Interview with Snuffy Norton-Bearmani

By Haeschen Weidermann

Dearest readers,
I was honoured when Mr. Norton-Bearmani’s P.A. contacted me and gave me the opportunity to meet THE famous, wonderful designer Mr. Snuffy Norton-Bearmani.
So, I am sitting here now in a small café, hidden in a corner and waiting for him. Secret time and secret place. *opening handbag and taking last calming-pill out of pill-box; preparing tape-recorder…and waiting for the fashion-star to come into the café*

There he is: Well dressed and groomed as always, gallantly kissing my paw, smelling gorgeous.

*starting the tape to record while Snuffy orders two vanilla-cappuccinos and two petit fours for us*

Dearest Mr. Snuffy, thank you so much for your precious time to give „Bunny Talks“ an interview.

*Snuffy smiled at me and answered with a calm and deep voice, playing with a brand-new IPad*

The pleasure is mine!

Mr. Snuffy, first I would like to start with a personal question:
What was the inspiration for your parents to call you “Snuffy”? Such a cute name!
I think I had a cold when I was first brought home and was sniffing. I was still a baby-bear, with fluffy fur and tiny ears. Sniffing all the time.
They couldn't call me Sniffy, so they called me Snuffy. That’s it!

Okay, so there already was another Snuffy in the family, I see! *slurping delicious vanilla cappuccino and taking a bite of the other delicious little thingies, staring paparazzi found us, taking pictures while Snuffy is chewing his cake*

Mr. Bearmani, how and through what do you get your personal inspiration for all your beautiful creations?

I am greatly inspired by one of my favourite humans, Graham Norton (chat show host in the UK). He wears the most amazing suits. I was watching his show one day and thought, "I must have that suit for myself." Ever since, I have been trying to dress as nicely as he does. So I make suits and dress like a gentlebear.

So, you are watching him regularly? How cool is this…maybe one day you can be in his show, too.
*bunny made note to find Graham Norton and his show in the net,
www.youtube.com*
Do you have a personal muse and if so please show us a pic!

Apart from Graham, no I don't really….need one.

*Bunny is a little bit disappointed to not find a cute little creativity-giving companion in Snuffy’s house…*

*ordering carrot-cake to get over disappointment*

What is the favourite food of yours; what helps your creativity?

Ice cream is nice. I also love vanilla cappuccinos and they really help me create.
I slurp them when I work and vanilla is the aroma of my soul. *giggling with deepest bear-voice*
Ice-cream? Ice-cream is perfect, I personally know at least two fluffies who need ice-cream to survive: The bear at my side, my fiancé Blund & moi.

What do you do to relax and unwind from your stressful designer-job?
A cup of tea and a good mystery movie is nice. I also love the last few years of “Doctor Who”. Sometimes I play a little scrabble with my buddy, Squeaky Oat Bear.

Very stylish and sophisticated, Mr. Norton-Bearmani! *shivering with amazement*

Mr. Bearmani, would you please explain a typical Bearmani-day-schedule?

Servant brings me my vanilla cappuccino in bed. I check my mail and play all my scrabble turns (on my new iPad, I was able to buy with all my sewing money). Then I supervise the chubby servant as she goes on the treadmill. Lunch time - someone makes something tasty, and after lunch, I start work. I might make some outfits, or bears or work on one of my websites.
Dinner comes and another tasty meal is created. Then I watch a little telly with tea or wine. I have a nap and then do a little more work. Then I take my iPad to bed and play or watch a video before falling asleep. …or…before going to sleep I might have a little midnight-snack and a last glass of Chardonnai before I will go to bed and dress in silk-P.J.s

*Bunny is making notes about food-situation in the house Norton-Bearmani…must go there next holiday with Blund and ring a tent to sleep over a couple of weeks….made note about getting a treadmill for THE bear as well…will do him good*

Snuffy, a last and personal question, all our readers are curious to know: Is there someone special in your life?

If you are talking about romance, no. But I do have many, many wonderful friends. I just don't think I would have the time needed to make someone happy. And having friends is much more important to me.
…and all your friends and readers and customers love you to bits. Thank you Mr. Bearmani for your precious time….

*Snuffy gets up, wipes his mouth with the serviette, kisses bunny-paw gallantly…Haeschen receives the bill from the waiter, is flabbergasted,… pays with Blund’s credit-card and leaves with a little brown bag containing two cinnamon-buns for THE bear*
